Seven families, read from the filings and refreshed constantly

What a governance record actually contains, family by family. Each one is defined once and applied to every company in the base, in every sector; each is revised annually, so that it keeps pace with the codes and the practice it reports on.

From the filings

Never a survey, never an estimate

Every family is collected the same way for every company, out of the documents the company itself publishes — never a survey, never a third party's estimate.

Read at scale

The value, with the passage that supports it

Machines read at scale and bring back the value together with the passage that supports it — the sentence in the filing, not only the number.

Checked by a person

An analyst sets the two against each other

Before anything enters Gov360, an analyst sets the value and its passage against each other. It is slower than scraping, and it is the reason a figure from Lisbon can be laid beside a figure from Helsinki.

The offering

The DataBank is the asset. Here is what we offer with it

Five ways the same data goes to work — for boards, for owners, for the institutions that set the rules, and for the teams that want the raw material itself.

  • 01Tailored benchmarks & governance intelligenceYour governance read against the panel that actually matters — a stock market index, an Ethics & Boards panel or a group built to your definition — element by element, with the constituents visible and the series kept year after year. How benchmarking works
  • 02Portfolio governance review & vulnerability signalsFor investors and shareholders: the governance of every holding read on one framework, with weak signals and alert points surfaced early — before they become headlines.Governance for investors
  • 03Board profiles & directors' skillsets100,000+ director and executive profiles, structured for objective search: skills matrices, mandate and talent searches, and composition work grounded in evidence rather than address books.See the solutions
  • 04Research on demandThe question that has no benchmark yet: how a market actually governs itself, how long-horizon funds run their own governance policy, what a corpus of voting policies says once it is read the same way. We build the dataset the question needs, then answer it.What we are asked to research

Benchmarking

The panel is yours to define — and it is disclosed

A stock market index, an Ethics & Boards panel, or a group you construct by industrial sector, geography and company size — with the constituents visible, not just the median. Then four decisions, taken in this order and written into the report, so that a reader can see what was compared with what.

Panels
Stock market indices70+ indices — SBF 120 · FTSE 100 · HDAX · FTSE MIB · Euronext 100 · Eurozone 300
Ethics & Boards panelsPre-built peer groups maintained by our analysts and used in our own barometers.
Custom panelsBuilt on three axes — industrial sector, geography, company size — and saved for re-use year on year.
What you receive
A benchmark report, element by elementEvery indicator against the panel — with the constituents visible, not just the median.
A peer review, in the roomPresented to the committee or the board, with the questions it raises for yours.
The series, year after yearPanels are saved and re-run: movement is measurable because the questions do not move.
Step 01
Define the panel
A stock market index, an Ethics & Boards panel, or a group you construct by sector, geography and size. The constituents are listed by name — never just a median.
Step 02
Choose the indicators
The two or three your committee keeps coming back to, or the full record — any of the 450+ indicators above, each defined once and collected the same way for every company in the panel.
Step 03
Read the distribution
Where you sit, and who sits above and below you, by name. A position in the panel, not a score: the reading stays yours to make.
Step 04
Keep the series
The panel is saved and re-run each year on the same indicators. Movement is measurable because the questions do not move.
Where a benchmark is used

Four moments before a decision

The same read, at four moments when a decision is about to be taken.

Remuneration committee

Before the policy vote

Executive and board pay against the peers the market will use — total, fixed, variable, long-term — before the policy is put to shareholders.

Nomination committee

Before a board refresh

Size, independence, tenure, skills and diversity read against the panel, so that a renewal decision starts from where the board actually stands.

Investor

Before an AGM or a diligence

A holding or a target read on one framework against its peers — the weak signals visible before the vote, or before the price.

Company

Before a listing

Governance readiness against the index the company is about to join, item by item, with the gaps investors will read first.

What a benchmark looks like

A number means nothing until you choose what it is compared to

Four readings from our weekly Governance Ratio: the same indicator, two indices, and the gap between them. Real values and published dates — nothing illustrative.

Research on demand

The question that has no benchmark yet

Some questions are not a panel. They are a piece of research: how a market governs itself when you read the filings rather than the code, how the people who own companies organise to govern them, what a whole corpus of voting policies says once it is read the same way. The perimeter, the indicators and the sources are agreed first — then we collect, and then we answer.

  • 01Markets and countriesHow governance is practised across a whole market: the code set against what companies actually file, the distance between the two, and the comparison with the markets that market competes with. Commissioned by regulators, exchanges, and the international institutions that finance reform.
  • 02How owners govern what they holdThe governance policy of long-horizon funds and institutional investors, read side by side: how they organise to govern a portfolio, who decides, what they commit to in public, and where their stewardship reporting and their voting record part company.
  • 03Voting policies and stewardship, comparedVoting policies, engagement thresholds and outcomes across a defined set of investors — the corpus read on one grid, so a policy can be positioned against its peers rather than quoted on its own.
  • 04A dataset built for one questionWhen the answer needs data nobody holds yet, the collection is part of the mandate: the perimeter listed, the sources named, the method documented — and the base stays available to re-run next year, because a study that cannot be repeated measures nothing.

Several of the barometers we publish every year began as a piece of commissioned research. Studies are delivered to be published or presented under your name; the method travels with them.

Why we call it intelligence

Data is the raw material. The reading is the product

The same base sits under everything else we do — which is why an evaluation can say where a board stands rather than merely what it does, and why a barometer can be published in front of the people it measures. And because the same indicators are collected the same way year after year, it does something no one-off study can: it shows which way practice is actually moving.

Advisory

Evidence before opinion

Every evaluation and governance review opens on benchmarks drawn from the base, before a single question is asked. It is what lets an advisor arrive with a view the organisation has not already written for them.

Solutions

The software runs on it

Board evaluation, mandate search and the composition work behind them all read the same indicators. The products are not a separate dataset with a nicer interface — they are this one, made usable.

In the open

Published every year, method included

The barometers we co-sign are the base made public: same indicators, same panels, same method, restated annually in front of the market being measured. Ten years of them is a record of how governance changed.
