Gender equality: "Let us bring through a generation of women founders"
France still suffers from gender inequality in company formation and leadership — an occasion to restate the need to value women founders more highly, with the support of public authorities and the example of large media companies. By Guillaume Cairou, president of the Yvelines Chamber of Commerce and Industry and of the Club des Entrepreneurs.
Rechercher l’égalité des genres dans la société, c’est aussi garantir aux femmes le droit de réussir professionnellement, y compris à la tête d’une entreprise. Les différentes études sur le sujet révèlent pourtant qu’il reste du chemin à parcourir. Une enquête Opinion Way pour Go Entrepreneurs, réalisée en 2023, est éclairante : près d’une femme sur deux estime qu’en France, entreprendre en partant de zéro est plus facile pour un homme. Les néo-entrepreneures redoutent donc davantage l’échec de leur projet que leurs homologues masculins (71%, contre 61% respectivement).
