Women on boards and executive committees: France passes the United States for the first time
Laws encouraging women's appointment to boards and management committees have had a fast and effective impact. France now ranks ahead of the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany. The number of women actually running companies, however, remains very low — as in most industrialised countries.
Ce sont deux lois emblématiques qui ont bouleversé la gouvernance des entreprises et imposé au plus haut niveau les femmes qualifiées, diplômées depuis pourtant des décennies : la loi Copé-Zimmerman, votée en 2011 sur la composition des conseils d'administration et la loi Rixain, adoptée dix ans plus tard, et qui impose la féminisation des comités de direction (Comex).
